Literature Text

To write words in wondrous ways,
To express emotion on a euphoric stage.
To capture the calm and clear voices,
To linger on long and lengthy love stories.

To pursue the passion and impatience of lust,
To betray, bewilder, to break another's trust.
To tell the tale with tamed, taught tongues,
To laugh and lie through lovely laced lungs.

To kill the king or to kiss the knight,
To fight with fervor and to freeze with fright.
To jest the jealous and judge the journeys,
To melt with the members making memories.

Pursuing our approval, impatiently persisting
Our attention, they arrive astounding and assisting,
Wishing and wanting the world to wonder
At the steady, secretive, seductive, senseless, sophisticated stage.
This is one of my favorite older poems. I wrote this almost two years ago. Just a poem about the acting stage and the actors/actresses that perform on it. The end talks also about the audience a bit.

Questions for critique for [link] (The Written Revolution)

1. Is it too much alliteration? Does it distract from the poem just trying to describe all the different sides of theater?

2. What did you think about the point of view of the poem?

3. Did you like/almost not like it? Why?
